President’s Message

Hello Quilters,

Welcome to spring. I have been enjoying the warmer days, the trees and flowers starting to bloom
and the longer days. The allergies and growing grass are not quite as exciting but I have been able + Add New Category
to get out and walk more and that brings me joy. I went to Service Projects today and was so
excited to see some of the little dresses our members are making for the charity Cathy Miller is
supporting. What a great opportunity for our guild to help support others in need. If you haven’t
been before, try to attend an upcoming Service Projects day to see what we do and help tie some
quilts. You’ll also get to see the wonderful show and tell as members display what they have been
working on for donations.

I also wanted to mention that we had hoped to have a hybrid meeting (both in person and on Zoom
for those that are not able to travel to meetings) in April, but we haven’t had a chance to thoroughly
test out the process so the April meeting will only be in person. We will try to have this going for May
so we can include all our members in our meetings. Since our June meeting is the yard sale and
August is Quilt-O, we wouldn’t do another hybrid meeting until September.

Volunteer opportunities; please consider helping the guild:

• • 2025 Quilt Show Chair(s) – still need some folks here and it would be nice to have this filled
    before we start up again in the fall since the show is next April.
  • Membership chair assistant – This position has been filled! Thanks to Carrie Horton for
    volunteering. Say hi to Carrie when you sign in at the meeting and make sure to wish Charlene
    good luck with her move to Kentucky at the end of April.
  • Dinner with the speaker organizer – this isn’t a huge job but we do need someone to help
    organize this for the guild and also greet the speaker at the dinner.
  • Nominating committee – We have two volunteers but could use three to follow the by-laws.
    Thank you Jennifer Rossmere and JoAnne DuChez for stepping up to help with this task.

We will be having an executive board meeting on April 8th at 7pm. We will be discussing general
topics that affect the guild. If you are interested in attending, please let me or another officer know
and we will send you the Zoom link. We always appreciate your ideas and suggestions to improve
the guild.
