President’s Message Karen Kehl
Hello Quilters,
I am writing with mixed feelings as I prepare to step down as President and watch a new slate of
officers be elected. I have been honored to serve the guild as Vice President and President over the
past year.
I am grateful for your patience as I stepped into new roles. But I am also excited to see the directions
the guild will go with new leadership. And I am looking forward to having a little more time to spend
on quilting! I have a large list of quilts to make this year – for a daughter’s 30th birthday, and a
daughter’s wedding, a “duck hunting” quilt for my son, and a couch quilt for my husband. And those
are only the ones that I have all the materials for and have already started.
I am also looking forward to learning new techniques this summer in quilting classes and workshops.
I am especially excited to take a soy wax batik workshop that I have wanted to take for about 5 years
– it finally worked out in my schedule for this summer!
I hope your summer is filled with sun, time with those you love to be with, and lots of happy sewing.
Take care, keep quilting, and I will see you all in August!
