President’s Message Anne Flaggs
Hello Quilters,
Welcome to Fall. I hope everyone is enjoying the cooler temperatures. I spent the last two weeks in
Florida where humidity is a bit high, which limited my outdoor time. I’m happy to be back in
Maryland to enjoy the cooler weather and my favorite time of the year.
The guild year is now in full swing and there are a lot of things to do. Remember to get your raffle
quilt tickets from Karen Moss in the lobby before the meeting. Also, visit Linda Belecki selling our
various show and guild pins. The show pins are all on sale for $1 as we clear out our inventory.
Did you finish your Summer Challenge Quilt yet? If not, you still have a few days to get it done and
service projects will always accept it later, as I’m sure mine was over a year late one time. I can’t
wait to see all the wonderful submissions at the October meeting.
I’m excited that the guild is participating in the ACS challenge again this year and I hope many of you
will be working a quilt to submit and have found your inspiration for your Food for Thought.
The retreat is only a few months away, this is always a lot of fun and a great way to meet other guild
members, think about signing up if you haven’t already.
Judy Hoffman has started posting some dates on SignUpGenius to take our raffle quilt around to
other guilds to sell tickets. Going to another guild meeting can be a lot of fun and you get to see
their monthly program as a bonus. Please consider signing up to take the quilt out and help to raise
money for our guild.
I did have one volunteer sign-up to help look for a 2025 quilt show location, but no response on
setting up hybrid meetings. I do think this is important, so I’ll bring it up in a few months and see if
anyone is willing to help.
Get out and enjoy fall – there are several quilt shows and a quilt Bingo to keep us entertained.
See you at the meeting.
Anne
